You should know that Netgear does not sell this modem to individuals, only ISPs. At least that's what Netgear keeps telling me. It's pretty frightening when a company that is supposed to be a major internet player can't do a Google search to see that over 100 stores sell this modem directly to users. My CMD31T died six weeks after it was purchased. One day it was working fine and the next day I had no internet connection with my ISP. First I called my ISP and did all the stuff they asked. Th ... en my ISP sent out a technician with a network analyzer. My connection was fine, the modem was not. Then the nightmare begins. The Netgear support number connects to a call center in India. Everyone there follows the script EXACTLY. The first Customer Service Representative (CSR) told me that Netgear does not do support for this modem, I have to call my ISP. More >

My father in law bought this as TWC has told us they are now going to charge a 4$/mo fee for their modems and he wasnt down with that so he bought this. His speeds are triple what his TWC account services are supposed to be. Probably because TWC cant regulate the speeds on it with their account system. Only thing is the desc says this modem isnt supported by TWC? I wonder if thats a deal between Netgear and TWC so their users dont switch to this modem and unlock full speed. I will post an u ... pdate if anything goes bad with this product and TWC. More >

Bought this before reading the reviews, and it turned out to be total junk. My cable company, whose name is prominently displayed on this thing's box, spent 2 hours on the phone with me and we could not get this thing to work at all, so came back here to Amazon and went with a Surfboard - which worked perfectly out of the box, took the cable company two minutes to activate and done. Do not waste your time with this turkey. Too bad there isn't zero stars.
